We have two of these in the van. We use them for our keys, phone chargers etc.

We use one of these in the van because the lip on the edge keeps the mud from ending up on the van floor.

This is purely damage limitation. When you get back to the van after a walk on a wet day. You don't want a wet bed. This gets them pretty dry, pretty quick.
